The invention relates to a motor vehicle (10), which is designed to detect words (18) spoken in the motor vehicle (10) in a source language (DE) and to supply said words to an automatic speech recognition device (34) for the source language (DE) to detect a speech content, and to feed the speech content detected by the speech recognition device (34) to a translation device (38) for translating the detected speech content into a target language (EN) differing from the initial language (DE). The possibility of translating spoken speech contents is intended to be applied to further useful purposes. To this end, according to the invention, words (20) spoken in the target language (EN) are also detected and said words are fed to an automatic speech recognition device (36) for the target language (EN) to detect a speech content, and the speech content detected by the speech recognition device (36) for the target language (EN) is fed to a translation device (38) for translating the detected speech content into the initial language (DE). The two translated speech contents are then output. In this way, simultaneous translation of a conversation in the motor vehicle is made possible. |
