PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that reduces the workload of document direction determination processing, and can correctly align the upper side of a document even when the set direction of the document cannot be determined.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: a document set direction receiving unit 71 that receives the settings of a first document set direction and the settings of a second document set direction, respectively; a document set direction determination unit 73 that determines the document set direction of a document MS set on a document feeding unit 3 only for two directions, the first document set direction and the second document set direction, on the basis of document image data; and an image processing unit 8 that performs rotation processing of the document image data. The image processing unit 8 performs the rotation processing of the document image data on the basis of a result of the determination by the document set direction determination unit 73, and performs, when the document set direction determination unit 73 cannot determine the document set direction, the rotation processing on the basis of the first document set direction received by the document set direction receiving unit 71. |
