An ion generating apparatus (1) is provided with: an ion generator (10), which has an ion generating section (12) that discharges ions into air; an ion sensor (20) that has a circuit board (21), a collecting electrode (22), which collects ions discharged by means of the ion generator (10), and which is provided on a first surface (21a) of the circuit board (21), and a circuit section (23), which operates for the purpose of measuring an ion quantity in the air using the collecting electrode (22), and which is provided on a second surface (21b) of the circuit board (21); and a main body housing (2), which houses the ion generator (10) and the ion sensor (20), and which has a discharge opening (2c) for exposing the ion generating section (12) to the outside, and a collecting opening (2d) for exposing the collecting electrode (22) to the outside, said main body housing being disposed to face an air circulation space. The second surface (21b) of the circuit board (21)is sealed in a liquid-tight state, while forming an air layer (A1) on a surface of the second surface (21b). |
