[Class 78 (i)] In a conveyer of the scraper type in which the scraping elements of adjacent scrapers slope in opposite directions, a cleaning device is provided which is rotated and moved longitudinally at the same time in order that its teeth may pass between the scraper elements. The cleaning device comprises a shaft 4, Fig. 4, on. which are disposed pins 5 at a distance apart corresponding to the distance between the scrapers 1 on the conveyer. The ends of the shafts 4 are supported in ball bearings 6, on an extension 14, Fig. 6, of one of which is mounted a hub 10 formed with peripheral teeth 11. The hub 10 carries a fork 15 having grooves 16 formed in its limbs to receive rollers 18 which travel in a cam 17 fast on the end of the shaft 4. The bearing 6 is formed with a fork 19 in which are mounted rollers 18<1> engaging a groove in the cam 17. The conveyer driving shaft 8 is connected by sprocket and chain gearing 13, 12 to the teeth 11 on the hub 10. |
