[Class 113 (i)] Weather hoods for ships' lifeboats &c. are supported by a fore- and-aft spine member 22, to which lateral members such as ropes are attached, e.g. spliced, these members being either attached directly to the gunwales or to gunwale uprights 20. The spine member 22 is supported by central uprights stepped into the thwarts or the bottom of boat. The hood may be in two parts, including the curtains 41 which may be rolled up on the gunwales. |
