An external component mounting assembly 10 for an axle 26 of a commercial vehicle, for example a tractor, comprises a bracket 50 for mounting an external component 44, typically a fender, fairing, mud guard or other outboard element, on a frame 12 of the vehicle and also means for mounting a component 42 of a suspension 40, which is separate from external component 44 and which may be an air spring or a leaf spring, on frame 12. In a preferred embodiment, bracket 50 comprises a base (52, Figure 3) for mounting suspension component 42 and a portion (54, Figure 3) protruding from the base for mounting external component 44. The base and protruding portion may be formed in one piece or may alternatively be separate connectable parts. |
