摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic pole position detection method of a synchronous rotating machine which allows for correct detection of the polarity of magnetic pole position, and thereby the magnetic pole position, regardless of the structure of the rotating machine.SOLUTION: A magnetic pole position detection method of a synchronous rotating machine includes: a step 5A for outputting a first calculation magnetic pole position &thetas;1 by performing first magnetic pole position calculation; a step 5B for rotating a rotor to a magnetic pole position (&thetas;1+&thetas;a) by applying a DC current so as to generate a DC magnetic flux with a phase leading by &thetas;a from &thetas;1; a step 5C for outputting a second calculation magnetic pole position &thetas;2 by performing second magnetic pole position calculation; and steps D-F for determining whether or not the magnetic pole polarity is correct at the time of calculation from the comparison results of (&thetas;1+&thetas;a) and &thetas;2, and outputting the final output, i.e., the detection magnetic pole position &thetas;0, on the basis of the determination result.
