The device (1) has brake elements (6, 7) that are actuated by respective pressurizing agents or hydraulic agents. A brake circuit (2) is connected with one of the brake elements (6) via connecting lines (22, 24) to actuate one of the brake elements (6) via the connecting lines. Another brake circuit (3) is connected with another brake element (7) via connecting lines to actuate the latter brake element via the connecting lines. The brake elements are connected with the brake circuits via control valve devices (8,9) i.e. switch-over valves, respectively.
