PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved technique for accessing tissue such as a lenticular capsule to perform microsurgery.SOLUTION: A capsulotomy device for accessing a lenticular capsule through a cornea of an eye includes: a handpiece; a sliding element disposed so as to be slidable to move with respect to the handpiece; a suction cup contacting with the sliding element; a compression mechanism associated with the suction cup; and a cutting element mounted to the suction cup so as to cut a portion of the lenticular capsule. The compression mechanism is designed to be movable with respect to the handpiece and is positioned so as to be able to set the suction cup through an incision in the cornea of the eye. Moreover, while setting the suction cup through the incision, the compression mechanism compresses the suction cup. The suction cup can expand inside the anterior chamber into a cutting position on the lenticular capsule. |
