Supply unit with a lighting system

The supply unit i.e. medical supply unit (120), has a profile-like housing mountable on a wall/ceiling above a hospital bed (10). The housing is extended in a longitudinal direction. A lamp arrangement comprises a reading lamp. Two fiber optics are arranged in the housing for direct illumination of different portions of an examination region through corresponding LEDs with different directional characteristics (22-24). The examination region corresponds to the hospital bed. The different portions are a head portion (25), a body portion (26) and/or a foot portion (27) of the examination region.
