The arrangement has an electrical machine (4) for driving and/or loading a test item (1). A control arrangement (6) controls the electrical machine. A model (7) for a multi-mass fly wheel is implemented in the control arrangement, where the multi-mass fly wheel is attached at the test item and a portion of control requirements at the electrical machine is determined by the model. An algorithm is implemented in the control arrangement for evaluating the model using an integrative time-step process, where the model contains parametric representation of radial rigidity of a bow spring.
