A cartomizer 40 adapted for an electronic smoking device comprising a shell 41 having an air inhalation port 36 in a first end and a coupling 42 adapted to couple to a main body of the electronic smoking device at an opposite second end; an atomizer 26 operable to create an aerosol for inhalation by atomizing a liquid supplied from a liquid store 34 arranged inside the shell; a first sealing member 44 sealing the air inhalation port and a second sealing member 46 sealing the second end. Preferably, at least one sealing member comprises a metal foil, more preferably an aluminium foil. The metal foil may be coated with plastic material. Preferably at least one sealing member is heat-sealed to the shell. The second sealing member may be attached to the coupling or to the body. At least one sealing member may also comprise a grip 54 adapted for removal. Also disclosed is an electronic smoking device comprising the cartomizer, wherein a piercing member may be adapted to pierce the second sealing member upon connection of the main body to the cartomizer. The piercing member is preferably a hollow needle. |
