PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more efficiently ensure power in simultaneously using fuel power generation.SOLUTION: A vehicle power supply device comprises: an alternator 2; a capacitor 3; sensors for detecting an operation state of an engine 1, such as an accelerator opening sensor SW1; a power generation efficiency calculation unit 12 for calculating expected power generation efficiency in the case of power generation by the alternator 2, on the basis of the operation state detected by the sensors (an operation state in the case other than deceleration of a vehicle); a storage unit 14 for storing a history of power generation efficiency; and a main control unit 11 for controlling power generation by the alternator 2. The main control unit 11 compares expected power generation efficiency calculated on the basis of a present operation state of the vehicle with the history of the power generation efficiency stored in the storage unit 14 (average power generation efficiency); and performs power generation by the alternator 2 in the case other than deceleration of the vehicle, when the expected power generation efficiency is equal to or more than the average power generation efficiency. |
