The system has a parking brake device (1) with a parking brake signal sensor for controlling an electronic control device for an electro-pneumatic valve device (2). The valve device contains a slide valve (6) controlled directly or indirectly by the electronic control, where the slide valve is stable with respect two positions of a gate valve (52). Operating conditions of brakes are adjusted based on position of the slide valve. The slide valve (6) is implemented such that the gate valve (52) keeps its last taken up position stably during disturbance in the electronic control device.
