The method involves sending bitwise developed command telegrams (38) to decoders by a control unit, where the command telegrams comprise an address portion (40) and an adjusting command portion (42). A feedback telegram (50) from a decoder responding to the command telegrams is sent to the control unit. The feedback telegram is sent after reception of the address portion, and with an end of the command telegrams. Sending of the feedback telegram is started immediately after the reception of a last bit of the address portion.
