A method, device, and self service equipment for card processing in a card reader. When a card is detected in a card reader, a card processing opening of the card reader is continuously detected for the presence or absence of a card, then, once the presence of a card is detected at the card processing opening, a user is prompted and warned that the card may have been switched, while at the same time, a currently ongoing service is suspended, the user is required to perform an identity authentication, a self service interface is switched to an interface to wait for the user to enter a password, and, only when the user correctly enters the password within a prescribed time, will processing of the current service be continued, thus allowing for effective prevention of a scenario as follows: while the user is conducting a self-serving service, a counterfeit card may be inserted by a criminal into the card reader to pose as the card of the user, so as to lure the user to surrender service operating rights and thereby incurring economic losses on the user, thus increasing the security of the self-serving service.
