PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of preventing an excessive fuel dense area caused by that a plurality of fuel spray streams injected from injector to a cavity collide against a wall face of the cavity, then reach to a cylinder head to diffuse in a circumferential direction of a combustion chamber, and result in overlap with each other, and capable of reducing heat loss from the fuel to the combustion chamber.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine includes: a cavity 11 concavely provided in a top portion of a piston 3 and forming a part of a combustion chamber 10; an injector 5 arranged on a head face 12 of a cylinder head 4 facing the cavity 11 and injecting a plurality of fuel spray streams separated from each other in a circumferential direction toward a wall face 11a of the cavity 11; and a plurality of head protrusions 13 arranged in portions of the head face 12 to which the spray streams injected from the injector 5 reach after colliding against the wall face 11a of the cavity 11, and formed along an inward-outward direction of the combustion chamber 10. |
