PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle instrument illumination device that can suppress a cumbersome operation of illumination such as a flicker, a blink and the like by detecting illuminance of an infrared ray component at the same time with external light illuminance.SOLUTION: The vehicle instrument illumination device comprises: illuminance detection means 1 that detects illuminance of surrounding external light of a vehicle; infrared detection means 2 that detects the illuminance of the infrared ray component of the surrounding external light; display means 3 that displays vehicle information on the vehicle; illumination means 4 that illuminates the display means 3; and control means 5 that adjusts output illuminance of the illumination means 4 on the basis of the illuminance to be detected by the illuminance detection means 1, and stops the adjustment on the basis of the illuminance of the infrared ray component to be detected by the infrared detection means 2. |
