摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IPM electric rotary machine of high energy density at a low cost, by achieving high efficiency rotary driving while reducing the amount of permanent magnet used.SOLUTION: An IPM electric rotary machine includes a rotor 12 in which permanent magnets 16 are embedded in V-shape, and a stator for housing the rotor in stator teeth 15 constituting the slots 18 for coil, in which the number of slots per pole per phase is set to 2. When the permanent magnets exist up to a d-axis side matching the central axis of each magnetic pole, the permanent magnets in a range generating the magnet flux in a direction of canceling the armature flux on the d-axis side are replaced by the space (flux barrier) 17c of cavity of small permeability. A pole aperture &thetas;6 (electrical angle) of the rotor is set in a range of 144°-154.3°, and a pole aperture &thetas;2 (mechanical angle) of the permanent magnets is set, more preferably, in a range of 37.5°-72.5°.
