PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detection device capable of accurately detecting the rotation of a detected object by suppressing cogging.SOLUTION: A rotation detection device 1 detects the rotation state of a detected object by allowing magnetic field detection units 31-33 to detect magnetic fields formed by magnets 21-24 during a period when a first support body 11 including the magnets 21-24 is rotated with respect to a second support body 12 including the magnetic field detection units 31-33 with the rotation of the detected subject. Magnetic members 41-46 cover one ends and the other ends of the respective magnetic field detection units 31-33. The respective pairs of the magnetic members 41-46 are mutually opposed via gaps S1 at the longitudinally middle parts of the respective magnetic field detection units 31-33. Dimensions in the tangential direction of circumferences of the respective magnets 21-24 are larger than the dimensions in the radial direction and larger than the distance of the gaps S1. |
