PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating an autism model animal and joint steady gazing and a joint steady gazing evaluation apparatus.SOLUTION: A joint steady gazing capability evaluation method includes the steps of (a) storing a reward in one of a plurality of boxes disposed in positions reachable for a nonhuman examinee animal, (b)an evaluator pointing out the box in which the reward is stored, while matching a visual line to the examinee animal, (c) performing scoring based on the number of times of implementation until the examinee animal achieves the reward, and (d) as the number of times is larger, a joint steady gazing capability being determined lower, and making useful a joint steady gazing evaluation apparatus provided with the plurality of boxes for performing that evaluation. Furthermore, a common marmoset to which an NMDA antagonist has been administered is useful as an autism model animal of which the joint steady gazing capability is lowered. |
