PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thickening apparatus, which makes the width or the diameter of a thickening part in a product difficult to change even when a rise in temperature occurs in each part by repeatedly performing thickening work, and a thickening work method.SOLUTION: A thickening work apparatus comprises metal molds 20a, 20b that fit a workpiece W on each end part side, holder units 10a, 10b that rotatably support the respective metal molds 20a, 20b, a pressurization part 30 that pressurizes one holder unit 10a in the direction of the axis line L, a cross direction loading part 40 that tilts the other holder unit 10b on a tilt center on the axis line while rotationally driving the metal molds 20a, 20b around the axis line, a control part 50 that make controls on the basis of a displacement width D of a metal mold position in the direction of the axis line L, a position detection part P that detects positional information of the holder unit 10a, and temperature detection parts T1-T3 that detect temperature information of the holder units 10a, 10b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
