An air conditioning system for conditioning a cabin (14) of an aircraft, the cabin (14) having a plurality of temperature zones and at least one door,The air conditioning system comprises an air-conditioning unit (4), which is configured for conditioning and providing air to at least one of the plurality of temperature zones, temperature zone sensors (26) each of which associated with a temperature zone for measuring the temperature therein, and a control unit. The latter receives information representing the closing state of a door (6) of the cabin (14), is coupled with the temperature zone sensors (26) and configured for controlling the temperature of the conditioned air provided to at least one of the plurality of temperature zones in two operation modes. In a first operation mode, when doors are closed, the temperature control depends on the measured temperatures in the temperature zones. In the second operation mode it depends on a set-temperature, independent from the measured temperature in a temperature zone affected by an open door. This clearly increases the efficiency of the air-conditioning system during ground operation. |
