The heat shield element has two material areas (19,21), in the material volume, which have different thermal coefficients of expansion. The hot side (13) and cold side (15) are turned towards heating medium. The hot side is connected to the cold side with peripheral surface (17) whereby the hot side, cold side and peripheral surface have limited material volume. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) Hot gas lining; (B) Combustion chamber; and (C) Method for manufacturing ceramic heat shield element.
