摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for optical transmission, capable of compensating deteriorated signal quality in optical transmission by using both optical compensation and digital signal processing without enlarging a transmitter/receiver scale.SOLUTION: A digital coherent optical transmission system includes an optical transmitter for transmitting an optical signal, an optical receiver for receiving an optical signal and an optical node, provided between the optical transmitter and the optical receiver, for relaying optical signals. The optical node includes: optical amplification means for compensating an optical signal loss in each span; dispersion compensation means for compensating dispersion in each span; and delay addition means for adding a relative time difference between wavelength channels. A nonlinear optical effect in an optical transmission line fiber is compensated in one or both of the optical transmitter and the optical receiver.
