PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery which has good charge and discharge cycle characteristics, and outstanding safety features even under a high-pressure environment.SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery use comprises: a particle of a lithium-manganese complex oxide expressed by the general formula, xLiMnO-(1-x)Li(NiMnCoM)O(where M is more than one element selected from a group consisting of Fe, Al, Mg, Ti, W and Zr, and 0<x<1, 0≤a≤0.7, 0≤b≤0.7, 0≤c≤0.5, and a+b+c=1); a phosphate coating film formed to cover the surface of the particle; and a carbon coating film formed thereon. A method for manufacturing a positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery use comprises the steps of: coating a particle of the lithium-manganese complex oxide with phosphate; and then coating the resultant particle with carbon. |
