PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer face welding method and an outer face welding device for a UOE steel pipe capable of reducing the welding cost of the pipe by effectively using a flux, when welding the outer face of a material formed in an O-shape, by submerged arc welding, in the production of the UOE steel pipe.SOLUTION: There is provided an outer face welding method for a UOE steel pipe for welding an outer face of a material press-formed in an O-shape by submerged arc welding, in a production of the UOE steel pipe. The method is characterized by: feeding a flux to the outer face of the formed material from a flux-feeding nozzle; sucking and collecting the flux which does not slag, the slagging is often caused by a weld heat, by using a flux sucking/collecting nozzle, after welding the outer face of the material by a welding electrode wire fed in the flux; and setting a second flux sucking/collecting nozzle to suck and collect the flux having spilled from the outer face of the material using the second flux sucking/collecting nozzle. |
