A dental retainer wherein the metal retaining wire elements have one male connector end and one female connector end to allow two or more elements to be joined together. The retainer sections can then be attached to teeth at the point of joining, using a dental adhesive. Each section is formed from one piece of wire; in the first embodiment, the male connection end is perpendicular to the main body of the wire, and the female connection end is in the form of a circle. Other embodiments have bends in the wire at different points to allow for different angles of connection. The shape of the female connection point may circular or C-shaped, or another shape. In one embodiment the male connector end is bulbous and the female connector end may be a multi-pronged cup shape to receive this. The connector elements may be magnetic. |
