PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilevel power conversion device of a compact size by reducing the number of flying capacitors.SOLUTION: A basic circuit 2 has N (N≥2) first basic cells in each of which a switching element S, a flying capacitor Cand a switching element Sare sequentially connected in series between positive and negative electrodes of DC voltage sources C, C. As for expansion circuits 3, a second basic cell is connected in parallel with the flying capacitor Cof each first basic cell and a further second basic cell is connected in parallel with a flying capacitor of the second basic cell until this is repeated K times to connect K (K≥1) second basic cells. Phase modules 41, 42, ..., 4M each have a switching element between each input terminal and an output terminal, and selectively control the switching element on/off to output a potential of any one input terminal from the output terminal. |
