PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic ticket gate and a control method therefor capable of promptly evacuating a user when an earthquake occurs.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, the automatic ticket gate comprises a door, medium processing means, passage determination means, passage control means, reception means and control means. The medium processing means processes a ticket medium presented by a user. The passage determination means determines whether or not to permit passage on the basis of information read by the medium processing means from the ticket medium. The passage control means controls opening/closing of the door according to a result determined by the passage determination means. The reception means receives an emergency earthquake flash. If the reception means receives the emergency earthquake flash, the control means sets an operation mode on an earthquake corresponding mode and keeps the door in an open state until the earthquake corresponding mode is cancelled. |
