The present invention relates to a method for providing an augmented reality service including the steps of: (a) receiving an image from a camera; (b) performing an image matching operation on the image input from an image matching server; (c) when the image is matched with a specific image from among pre-stored items, determining whether augmented reality can be carried out for the image using matched result in an API server; (d) providing augmented reality contents to embody the augmented reality scenario in the AR contents server when said image is determined to be an image that can be embodied into an augmented reality; and (e) carrying out, by means of a terminal, the augmented reality using content for the augmented reality. According to the present invention, augmented reality can be carried out for various images which are input from a camera, not by storing data required to carry out the augmented reality in a memory space in a limited terminal, but by adopting an image matching technique before carrying out the augmented reality, and receiving, from a server, data necessary for carrying out the augmented reality for a corresponding image. |
