[Class 126] A stove for heating air for the ventilation of mines and factories comprises a fire basket 11 enclosed by means for preventing the emission of light consisting of a top plate 13 having a fuel feed hopper 14 and stack pipe 16 and an outer casing consisting of spaced plates 20, 21 surrounding the fire basket 11 and louvres 28 surrounding the ashpit which direct air against the perforated fire basket. The ashpit is also provided with a louvred hinged door 31. The hopper is provided with double slides 16 and the stack with two right angled bends. Observation and poking holes are provided in the plate 13 and casing 20.
