PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire grid polarization plate that suppresses a reduction in parallel transmittance and polarization separation characteristics even when a conductor of the wire grid polarization plate is embedded in an adhesive material, and has excellent parallel transmittance and polarization separation characteristics.SOLUTION: The wire grid polarization plate (1) includes a base material (11) having a rugged structure extending in a predetermined direction at intervals of ≤150 nm, and the conductor (12) provided to be unevenly distributed on one side face (11b) of a projection part (11a) of the rugged structure. A width Th of the projection part (11a) of the base material (11) at a position which is one-tenth lower than a highest part (11c) of the projection part (11a) of the rugged structure in a height direction is 0.45 times or less as large as a width T1 of the projection part (11a) of the base material (11) at a position which is one-tenth higher than a lowest part (11e) of a recess (11d) on a surface of the base material (11) in the height direction, on a plane perpendicular in an extending direction of the rugged structure of the base material (11). |
