A diaphragm (202) for use in a loudspeaker transducer (200) is disclosed. The loudspeaker transducer (200) may include a voice coil (214), a former (218), a first magnet assembly (204) having a circular inner magnet (220), a top plate (208) having a annular outer top plate (238) and a circular inner top plate (236), a second magnet assembly (206) having an annular outer magnet and a circular inner magnet, an air gap (226) defined by the circular inner magnet (220) of the first magnet assembly (204), annular outer top plate (238), circular inner top plate (236), annular outer magnet and circular inner magnet of the second magnet assembly (206), and a surround suspension member (212). The diaphragm (202) may include an outer perimeter that has a diameter that is greater than a diameter of the circular inner magnet (220) of the first magnet assembly (204) and less than an inner diameter of the annular outer top plate (238). The diaphragm (202) may also include an outer perimeter edge (500) that is configured to be attached to both an inner edge of the surround suspension member (212) and the former (218), wherein the former (218) is located within the air gap (226), where the diaphragm (202) is generally circular and configured to be positioned concentrically above the circular inner magnet (220) of the first magnet assembly (206). |
