PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new on-vehicle machine capable of properly communicating with a new and old optical beacons and multi-rate compatible in an uplink direction.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle machine 2, which executes wireless communication with an optical beacon 4 installed on a road by an optical signal, comprises: an optical transmission part 23 capable of performing electro-optical conversion at two kinds of high and low transmission rates; an optical reception part 24 capable of performing photoelectric conversion at a prescribed transmission rate; and a communication control part (on-vehicle control equipment) 21 which executes preceding processing for setting the transmission rate of a preceding frame U1 to a high rate or subsequent processing for determining whether to set subsequent frames U2 to U4 to non-transmission or to set the transmission rate thereof to a low rate. |
