Disclosed is a method for obtaining information relating to ovarian cancer. The method comprises the steps of: preparing a DNA sample from a biological sample collected from a subject; analyzing methylation status of a CpG site in a promoter region of at least one gene selected from the group consisting of AVPR1B gene and LRRC41 gene contained in the DNA sample; and obtaining information indicating that the biological sample comprises a ovarian cancer cell when it has been determined that the methylation is present in the determination step.
