The method involves providing a flat, elongated, two- or multilayer paper strip (10), where the individual layers (12,14) of the paper strip are partially connected with each other in a central region (18) extending in a longitudinal direction. The individual layers of the paper strip have edge areas (20,21,22,23) that are not connected with each other. The adjacent edge areas are impinged to a star-like paper strip in cross section. The paper strip is crumpled along the central region. An independent claim is included for a device for manufacturing a cushioning product. |
