PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve support structure of an internal combustion engine capable of improving sealing performance between a valve stem guide which penetrates a cooling water passage and a cylinder head which supports the valve stem guide and capable of preventing positional deviation of the valve stem guide.SOLUTION: A valve support structure of an internal combustion engine includes an exhaust side guide insertion hole 32 which is formed so as to penetrate a cooling water passage 13 in a cylinder head 11 and an exhaust side valve stem guide 52 which is inserted to the guide insertion hole 32, wherein the exhaust side guide insertion hole 32 has a large diameter hole part 61, a middle diameter hole part 62 which is communicated with the cooling water passage 13 and a small diameter hole part 63, the exhaust side valve stem guide 52 has a large diameter shaft part 71, a middle diameter shaft part 72 which is exposed in the cooling water passage 13 and a small diameter shaft part 73, and a sealant S is entered to a sealant reservoir part 91 between a chamfer part 62a of the middle diameter hole part 62 and an engagement corner part 81, and a sealant reservoir part 92 between a chamfer part 63a of the small diameter hole part 63 and an engagement corner part 82. |
