PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder device capable of automatically returning from a high damping side to a low damping side.SOLUTION: A cylinder device comprises: a first shut-off valve mechanism 101 opening in a region of slow piston speed to generate low damping force while establishing communication between a pressure chamber 12 and another chamber 13 and closing in a region of fast piston speed; and a second shut-off valve mechanism 152 opening in the region of fast piston speed to generate high damping force while establishing communication between the pressure chamber 12 and the other chamber 13. The first shut-off valve mechanism 101 comprises: a communication passage 100 establishing communication between the pressure chamber 12 and the other chamber 13; a first valve seat 95 provided on a pressure chamber 12 side of the communication passage 100; a second valve seat 96 provided on an other pressure chamber 13 side of the communication passage 100; a valve element 81 formed with a first valve part 83 on an axial one side, which seats on the first valve seat 95, formed with a second valve part 86 on the axial other side, which seats on the second valve seat 96, and moving in an axial direction; and biasing means 98 biasing the valve element 81. |
