A telescopic fitment (60, Fig. 1) suitable for connecting a magnetic filter (10, Fig. 1) to a central heating system circuit comprises a first connector (62, Fig. 1) and a second connector (64, Fig. 1), each of the connectors comprising a filter connection end 66ꞌ and a circuit connection end 68ꞌ . At least one of the connectors comprises an inner pipe 70ꞌ and an outer pipe 72ꞌ, the filter connection end provided on one of the inner 70ꞌ or outer 72ꞌ pipes and the circuit connection end on the other of the inner 70ꞌ or outer 72ꞌ pipes. The inner pipe 70ꞌ is able to slide within the outer pipe 72ꞌ for adjusting the position of the circuit connection end end relative to the filter connection end whilst maintaining a sealed fluid path between the pipe ends. A threaded collar 120 may be used to prevent the inner pipe 70ꞌ sliding relative to the outer pipe 72ꞌ and a snap ring (82, Fig. 4) in a holding groove (88, Fig. 4) may prevent the inner 70ꞌ and outer 72ꞌ pipes becoming detached. A method of fitting a magnetic filter (10, Fig. 1) to a pair of pipe ends with tapered threads in a central heating system is also claimed. |
