[Class 81 (ii)] One of the relatively movable parts of which the cavity dilating and illuminating device is composed according to the parent Specification (made of light transmitting material, e.g. methyl methacrylate) is formed as a fork with 'laterally separable prongs. The handle 3 of the instrument carries a cap 4 mounting an electric light bulb and reflector and held in position by a knurled nut 6. The interior of the handle is hollow and at the end remote from the light the handle receives a blade 8 of light-transmitting material. A fork composed of backwardly bent prongs 9A, 9B acts as the cavity-dilating device The prongs are attached to a carrier pin 12 on an adjustable slide 13. A handle 16A is provided on a supporting strip 16 to facilitate adjustment.
