PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure preventing part of an edge from falling when there occurs a crack in an edge face.SOLUTION: A honeycomb structure 100 which includes a columnar honeycomb structural part 10 having porous partition walls 1 partitioning and forming a plurality of cells 2 extending from an inflow edge face 11 to an outflow edge face 12 is such that: the part cells in the plurality of cells 2 are inflow cells 2a where an inflow edge face 11 side is opened and a plugged part 8 is formed at an outflow edge face 12 side; remaining cells in the plurality of cells 2 are outflow cells 2b where the plugged part 8 is formed at the inflow edge face 11 side and the outflow edge face 12 side is opened; the inflow cells 2a and the outflow cells 2b are arranged so as to be adjacent to each other; and a value of a ratio of a bending hardness of a first test piece cut out like a condition (1) to a bending hardness of a second test piece cut out like a condition (2) is 1.1-2.0.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
