PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform flushing concurrently with sheet supply conducted by a roller to reduce the preparation time, and to perform flushing after checking if the sheet is supplied by the roller.SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes: an ink jet head 26 which discharges an ink toward a recording sheet 100; a pickup roller 24 which supplies the recording sheet 100 placed on a main tray 23a to the ink jet head 26; a paper feeding motor 20 which drives the pickup roller 24; and a control part which controls the ink jet head 26 and the paper feeding motor 20. The control part causes the ink jet head 26 to perform flushing when an electric current of the paper feeding motor 20, which is generated when the pickup roller 24 is driven, exceeds a predetermined threshold value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
