PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for suppression of reduction in the subject detection accuracy, when detecting a subject by using an optical element for photometry and an imaging element for photometry.SOLUTION: Subject detection is carried out using an optical element for photometry (a lens 121b for photometry and a prism 121a for photometry) and a photometric sensor 122. In this case, for the areas obtained by dividing a photometric area 125 into three areas from the image height 0 to H, weighting coefficient Wr, Wg, Wb are set, respectively, for a region (called a first subject detection region) where the image height h is 0≤h<2/3×H, and a region (called a second subject detection region) where the image height h is 1/3×H≤h<H. Since the first subject detection region and second subject detection region have a duplicate region, subject detection can be carried out in the regions where the same weighting is performed, when subject detection is carried out by performing the weighting for each region, and accordingly the subject detection can be carried out accurately.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
