PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic watch that detects an attitude by suppressing a current consumption even without requiring a dedicated mechanism for detecting the attitude and without sacrificing a size.SOLUTION: An attitude of an electronic watch is detected by the following steps of: outputting a step pulse formed by a plurality of continuous driving pulses outputted based on oscillation frequency of a crystal oscillator for a motor which is connected to a pointer 106 rotatably provided with one end side as a center and disposed with a rotor rotating the pointer 106 by rotating by a predetermined angle; detecting the position of the pointer 106 rotated with the rotation of the rotor by the step pulse; detecting whether or not the rotor is rotated by the predetermined angle with the output of the step pulse in a state where the point 106 is positioned at each of the detection positions based on the detection result; detecting the output value of the step pulse required for the rotor to rotate by the predetermined angle for each detection position; and detecting the attitude based on the output value of the step pulse for each detected detection position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
