The present invention provides an imaging device, an imaging device body, and a method for controlling the imaging device with which it is possible to extend a range in which a maximum aperture value is made usable by a light-reducing filter, and to reduce the occurrence of blur. An imaging device (10) is provided with a stop (21), an apodization (APD) filter (22), a neutral density (ND) filter (23), an imaging element (32), a main control unit (34), a photometric unit (52), a program diagram storage unit (54), and an imaging exposure determination unit (56). The ND filter (23) is detachably inserted in an optical path. The photometric unit (52) finds a photometric value from an imaging signal obtained by the imaging element (32). The program diagram storage unit (54) stores a program diagram in which an aperture value is fixed at a maximum aperture value at a specific exposure value or less. The imaging exposure determination unit (56) determines imaging exposure on the basis of the program diagram and imaging exposure obtained from the photometric value. The main control unit (34) makes the ND filter (23) to be inserted in the optical path when the imaging exposure is larger than the specific exposure value. |
