The invention relates to a use of a range extender vehicle (2; 2a, 2b), comprising a range extender energy store (6) and means (8) for transmitting energy to a main vehicle (4) for supplying a main vehicle (4), comprising a main vehicle electric motor (20) for driving the main vehicle (4), a main vehicle energy store (22) for supplying the main vehicle electric motor (20) with power and means (10) for obtaining energy from the range extender vehicle (2; 2a, 2b), with energy from the range extender energy store (6) via the coupled-together energy transmission means (8) and means for obtaining energy (10), characterised in that the range extender vehicle (2; 2a, 2b) also comprises: a range extender electric motor (12) for driving the range extender vehicle (2; 2a, 2b); means (28) for autonomously driving the range extender vehicle (2; 2a, 2b) on a road network (54); and receiving means (50) for receiving information for detecting the main vehicle (4). By means of the invention, the mobility, in particular the range, of electric vehicles can be improved in a simple and comfortable manner. |
