This vehicular display apparatus (100) is equipped with an HUD (110) that displays a virtual image in the front visual field of a driver and a view point detecting camera (120) that captures an image of the driver. A measuring camera (210) is installed at a position where the virtual image can be captured. In addition, a calibration pattern (300) is disposed at a predetermined position with respect to the view angle of the virtual image, the field angle of the view point detecting camera (120), and the field angle of the measuring camera (210). Furthermore, the image of the calibration pattern (300) is captured by the view point detecting camera (120) and the measuring camera (210), and the virtual image is captured by the measuring camera (210). Using the image captured by the view point detecting camera (120) and the image captured by the measuring camera (210), the relative positions and orientation of the view point detecting camera (120) and the HUD (110) are calculated as orientation information. The position of the virtual image displayed by the HUD (110) is then adjusted using the calculated orientation information. |
