PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser marking apparatus that can surely perform printing on the surface of a workpiece in a constant region even when using variable width fonts and easily read printed characters in a mechanical manner, a printing method, and a computer program.SOLUTION: A laser marking apparatus has a laser beam generating part, a laser beam scanning part, a printing data generating part that generates printing data, and a laser beam control part. The printing data generating part receives setting of character strings for performing printing on the surface of a workpiece to receive selection of fonts of character strings to be printed on the surface of a workpiece, and generates font data and printing data including character strings of which setting has been received to transmit the data to the laser beam control part. When variable width fonts that are fonts having character width different with each character are selected, printing data is generated which are so arranged that a distance from a reference position is constant.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
