A device for injecting a medicament includes a housing for a medicament container assembly, and an activation member axially movable relative to the housing between extended and retracted positions with a gripping member. A movement guide mechanism includes a first guide, a second guide that has a locking portion, and a guide follower that slides along the first guide when the activation member moves from the extended position to the retracted position and that slides along the second guide when the activation member moves from the retracted position to the extended position. The gripping member engages the container assembly when the activation member is in the retracted position. The locking portion interacts with the guide follower when the activation member moves from the retracted position to the extended position to restrict movement of the activation member. A method of assembling a delivery device is also disclosed. |
